Front Panel:

The Scientific Atlanta 8300HDC had an LED display that showed the channel number and time. Also featured in the front were the DVR's controls (including the power, volume and channel buttons), the infrared sensor for the remote control, a USB port and an audio/video input.

Back Panel:

The back panel of the 8300HDC featured several other ports, including coaxial cable connectors, component video inputs, digital audio and S-Video outputs, an HDMI port for high-definition (HD) TV and an SATA interface to connect an external hard drive for more recording capability.
